Religious Education
‘With Christ, we grow in faith and understanding.’
At St Teresa’s, Religious Education is one of our core subjects and the teachings of Christ permeate our curriculum.
We follow the Birmingham Diocesan Scheme, ‘Learning and Growing as the People of God’; the beliefs and values that children are taught through RE lessons are prevalent through their own thoughts and actions.
Religious Education is allocated 10% of Curriculum time as required by the Bishops’ Conference. RE is not taught within a single afternoon; instead, taking place across multiple sessions within a week, following the Curriculum Directory guidelines and learning outcomes.
Key Concepts of Catholic Social Teaching are also embedded into our wider school curriculum, teaching children how to follow in the footsteps of Christ and guiding them in how to live out their faith in the world.
